You know, you always hear people saying it. "Hope is a powerfull thing".  Its what keeps the mother going to church after her son was blown up somewhere in the middle of some open field, for what she still isnt sure.
Man. This is crazy. Im sure im not the only person of african decent that deep down inside thought this was never going to get this far. Deep down you thought this was going to be one of those movie moments where the guy gets the girl but then gets killed trying to save the girl or vis-versa.

Not only because Obama was black but because everything he stood for was the complete opposite of what it was we have become to accept as the norm including his political platform.

The idea of a black president is no different then the idea of a female president - these were things that only happened in those futuristic movies or that one episode of Voyager when Tom Peris revisits earth in 2019.

I was talking about this with someone last night who happens to be a duel citizen. He compared the last 8 political years to what it must have felt like when hitler just started taking over. It seemed for a moment there, we were all doomed and that one of these days the crazy old guy was going to fall asleep on the red button and it would be nothing like the end of "Dr Strangelove" -- no one would be left to ride the huge nucular missile and waving his arms like a 10 year old on there first merry-go-round.

In the past 8 years we have managed to see an attack on american soil (pearl harbour) and an endless war that for a moment there i thought was going to lead to some crazy arm wrestle death cage match with just bush and the new guy whos in charge... or there isnt one guy ?  I thought.. oh they caught that guy.. in a hole.. ? wtf!   then what are we still doing there?!


Anyway.. long story short .. We are all apart of something huge here. This will be one of those moments when each person can look back to an exact moment and share a detailed account of what they were doing , who they were doing and who was that years next top model.
